Heavenly Heights...

Hi pretties!! Ok, I am finally back with a lot of good ideas of things I want to talk about! First, some more about heels and platforms! I recently purchased the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's platform heels in the cognac color and the other night found some Jessica Simpson platforms I ordered last year at holiday (I think) and when I got them realized, "Oh dear goodness these are the highest shoes ever!!" and hid them in my closet, too afraid to wear them.

Well the other night I was getting rid of old shoes I don't wear anymore, and the old shoes that were similar to my new Lauren Conrad's and stumbled upon my Jessica Simpson's I hid oh so long ago. Well I've worn them both since then and I have to say both are extremely comfortable!

Jessica Simpson Dany (no longer available)
These platforms are at least 5" high!!!

Now I know what you're thinking, "Oh, but Carrie kitten heels are so on trend right now these heels are much, much too high for Spring". Well let me tell you something very important about me, I  am NOT a fan of heels any less than 3"; even 3" heels give me the heebeegeebees (I think that's how you spell that). So, as you can see not every trend should make it's way into your repertoire, classic case of wearing what I like despite trends!

My favorite thing about these two shoes is how comfortable they are, the platform is the perfect height to keep your feet from being at a complete 90 degree angle with the floor (exaggeration I know) without being too clunky and hard to walk in. I actually wore the brown ones on Monday and the black ones Tuesday so today I wore my black Lauren Conrad pumps...

...and found those less comfortable after the other two! Weird! I feel like the higher the heel the closer to Heaven and at this point I need all the help I can get! Just kidding, but seriously! So for all you pretty ladies that are afraid to try a pair of platforms for fear they'll ruin your feet take heed at the height of the platform, it may make them way more comfy and make you wayyyyy cute for wearing them!

hiii...

I've been feeling a little uninspired lately but just an outfit idea for those of you loving the color block trend...much like myself!

(Both tops from Target and both skinnies and Express)

Colored denim is *such* an easy way to incorporate color blocking or even just any amount of color into your Spring wardrobe!!

PS. DID YOU SEE PRETTY LITTLE LIARS?!  Of course you did but could you believe all the twist and turns! I knew Mona was A (I read the books) and what the F was Jenna up to meeting that person in the park...and I feel like she has been able to see for longer than just these last few episodes! I CANNOT WAIT FOR IT TO COME BACK THIS SUMMER (June 5th if I'm not mistaken?)

Gushing...

Hi pretty little friends!! I have been exhausted lately between enjoying long weekends with friends and long weeks learning new tasks at work I am still adjusting to my new schedule!!

I have to do a little product review for you guys because I have found my new favorite basic black pumps!! And it's from one of my favs...

SURPRISE!! It's LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's

These are some of the easiest high heels to walk in I have ever pranced around in! I am not a kitten heel kind of girl...anything under 3 1/2 inches tends to turn me off. These are my favorite height and are so easy to walk in, almost like training heels but perfect for any outfit!

As I am writing this I am watching the end of the first episodes of Fashion Star and I am becoming more and more obsessed as the seconds tick on! If you didn't get a chance to watch it tonight definitely set your DVR or catch it next week!! It's wonderful!

A look back...

Evening pretties! The weather today was so beautiful and I got to go for a really refreshing walk to start my work out so it made me feel extra productive. I have been thinking about the girl I was in high school versus the girl I am now and it's kind of funny. I remember in high school it was all about fitting in for me and most girls my age. I remember if I said I liked some piece of clothing and my friends said they didn't I wouldn't buy it.

I know, I'm adorable! Color denim before it was cool!

For my 16th birthday I didn't dare ask for a car, I knew I wasn't getting one, but I did ask for this adorable (at the time) tan corduroy and shearling jacket from Abercrombie and Fitch. And by the time winter rolled around most of the girls in my group of friends and some that I didn't hang out with had something very similar. At the time I didn't mind because I fit in and eventually got myself another, almost identical jacket in the black version, I had to have options. This now would probably drive me nuts I mean now a days I wear a bright pink Coach pea coat in the winter to give you an example of how I try not* to fit in.

That's me in the front left in aforementioned coat(and glasses)!!

If you look at girls in high school now it's all about Northface jackets, skinnies, and Ugg boots (until Summer then replace Northfaces with neon racer backs, skinnies for denim cut offs and Uggs with...Uggs) and they all wear variations of the same Northface and Ugg boots. I wish I could tell these girls that one day you'll start wearing whatever you want and you'll have friends who will go shopping and when they see something you like point it out to you instead of tell you they hate it. It's nice to have honest friends don't get me wrong- they save you from some serious embarrassment but at a young age they keep you from truly expressing yourself.

Me on the way left again...It was a sporting event, we made shirts, so I guess we had to look the same ;)

Now the mess my life has become!! Yikes (Spring cleaning is in order!)

So, thats my thought...I'm glad we grew up and no longer worry about fitting in. Thank goodness for that!

V for Vendetta...

Hi pretties!! I have been on a beauty buying kick lately and have a few new products I recently purchased that I just love, love, love!

The first is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NW 18. The fluorescent lights at work are not very complimentary so I wanted to get a new foundation to combat the lighting. I am always nervous about new face products because my skin is normal borderline sensitive so anything too thick or chemically could make me break out! And good news, I've been using it for a few weeks and it hasn't so I love it! The great thing is it has SPF 15 in it because I am not religious about sun protection like at all, my sunnies aren't even polarized (but they're Chanel so all is forgiven) so now I'm doing a little something to protect my face!

The second is Chanel Le Vernis nail colour in Vendetta! I was at the counter getting Poudre Douce pressed powder compact and the sales lady pointed out the new nail colors for Spring which I didn't really love* and had similar colors but then I saw this deep purple and I fell in love! It goes on super easy (like Vamp and Peridot) and I adore the color. I know Spring is all about pastels but you don't have* to follow every* trend all* the time!!!

And last but certainly not least is the Urban Decay Naked palette. I know the second one just came out but I hadn't even tried the first one yet so I invested. Plus, the shades of the Naked 2 palette looked better suited for people with darker features and since I'm blonde haired and blue eyed the first set of colors would compliment me much better. I have used it everyday since I bought it! It's been such a good palette for any occasion, I feel bad none of my other shadows have been used since! Sorry guys!!

Now, hopefully I can get over all this make-up buying I've been doing and just save my money (yea, right). Have a great weekend!!

xoxo
