Pink Pout...

Sunday smiles...

This Sunday I bring a little wisdom, passed on from my saint of a mother! I am not devoutly religious and I can count the number of times I've been to church on both hands but I feel like my relationship with the man upstairs is still pretty solid. I don't depend on him for much, just send a "thank you" prayer after good & bad times in my daily life. I mean when you think about it, after a struggle you're inevitably a stronger person for it!

As a child my mom would always talk about the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and as an adult I realize just how important that is in every single relationship in my life. There is nothing that compliments a great outfit or a perfectly coifed hairstyle quite like treating people with the same respect you demand for yourself.  Thanks Mom!

Short...

Hi pretty people!! I am in the mood for some patterned shorts, now if only mother nature felt the same. My favorite thing about this trend is it goes easily from casual to edgy with the change for a shirt & shoes.

Day- a simple v-neck tee in a complimenting color with flat sandals and cross body bag

Night- Flowing spaghetti strap tank, wedges & clutch. Try mixing prints for a great night look but remember the print on top should incorporate at least one color as the shorts, otherwise it looks like you got dressed in the dark.

Good for the soul...

Hi friends!! I hope you had an amazing holiday weekend, I sure did! As you know if you read this post I spent the weekend with a few girlfriends in Door County, Wisconsin. It was so nice to be back and go to my favorite Swedish restaurant, Al Johnson's in Sister Bay; my little Swedish heart was so happy!

Girls trips are so necessary for the soul and it's always fun putting together a few cute outfits for days eating, shopping and drinking!

I recently purchase Rita Hazan hair chalk and colored the middle layer of hair for my weekend away! It lasted all the way through to Easter Sunday. Tip: use hair spray to lock in the color, otherwise it may rub off one your clothing! And don't forget my favorite Chanel sunnies came along. 

While in Door County we did some wine tasting and then drove up the peninsula to where the ferries load up the cars & tourists to go to Washington Island. We didn't stay long because it was freezing cold but I got a good picture...

Packing Tip: for weekends away make sure everything goes together and layers together. You never know what you might happen upon or when the weather will turn so layers are always your best bet, especially if you're traveling in the Midwest.
