Resolution...

We're a few days away from the New Year and as cliche as it may be the obligatory New Year's resolution blog is at hand!!

My New Year's resolution is to take up yoga!! I am going to start with beginners videos at home to learn the poses and then I'll find a great place to take come classes! Yay 2013!!

2012...

Hi pretties...2012 was a big year for yours truly and the three moments that easily made this year one of the best I've had in a while are...

Getting my first big girl, full time, will turn this into a career job. Working for Kohl's has been awesome and I have already learned so much and I can only go up from here!

My first big purchase as an adult! My new job allowed me to afford a brand new & more environmentally friendly car, in white of course! I love this stinkin' car!

Finally, moving out and moving in with the B/F. It was a huge step and one that I felt so nervous about and now it is starting to feel more like home!


2012 was a year of big change for me and to be honest it was exactly what I needed! I have high hopes for 2013, with the realization that if I want something I have to go and get it with hard work and determination. I also have high hopes for all of you that the new year brings with it lots of love & good things!

Christmas 2012...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! So far this holiday has been so much fun, spent the evening with the boy's family! Playing with his niece and the rest of the fam! We exchanged one gift last night and we're saving the other for when we're back home at the apartment (weird to say that's home but it's a good kind of weird). I was kind of a brat about ideas for me this year so when he  brought out a big blue Tiffany & Co. box I was very very curious about the contents! Needless to say I didn't wait long to pull that white ribbon and see what was inside!

 

I absolutely love this cute little bow mug and intend on using it as a vase or something, definitely too adorable to drink out of! And the box will be put to good use as well!

Clutch...

Sick of me yet? GOOD!! I have seen this product in glossies and have always thought to myself, next time I'm at Ulta I am going to get these and try them out. Well after months and months of vowing this, it wasn't until Black Friday of all days I finally bought them. I just kept forgetting because they were never on my priority list of things to get but they just jumped out at my while waiting in line (it happens when you wait for about a half an hour). I am hooked! Every girl needs to keep these in their makeup box/bag/drawer/vanity etc AT ALL TIMES!

The Almay oil-free makeup eraser sticks! I am in love! Perfect to help you clean up a slip of the eyeliner, perfect the cat eye, or erase some smudged lipstick! If you haven't tried these yet- go out to your nearest drug store and get some! 

P.S. there is a wonderful blizzard on it's way down just in time for a white Christmas :) 

Stretch...

Hi pretties- while spending time with some of my favorite glossies (magazines for those of you who don't know) I read that wearing high heels can shorten your Achilles tendon and become very painful over time. Not wearing 4 inch heels doesn't seem to be a very likely solution for yours truly so I've started stretching my tendon while sitting. It really only works when sitting at a short table where you can put your legs straight and the back of your high heel (or stiletto)  on the floor- if you've been wearing the shoes for a few hours you can actually feel the stretch! So word to the closer to heaven wise- make sure to stretch out the Achilles or pay for it (along with the rest of the ailments that high heels can bring) later!!

Dark Side...

I have a new fav shade that I never intended on loving. I was a flapper for Halloween and felt that I need a dark lip to complete the look but it's growing on me! For Halloween I went super dark but this last weekend I dabbed it on to be more of a stain than lipstick, and it was less maintenance while out for the evening.

My internet is being rude so I'll post more pictures later :(

Novel Idea...

Hi there pretties!! I am looking for a cute sweater to wear for Christmas and I am finding that I really want to wear a novelty sweater (or an ugly sweater if you prefer) because they make me giggle...I love wearing clothes that make me giggle!

Currently Craving...

Hi friends I am finally getting back to blogging!! We've lived in the new apartment a little over a month and we still haven't gotten internet yet (which I am calling tomorrow for) so I am sitting at Starbucks because I just couldn't take it anymore! But enough with the small talk....I am currently craving studs!

I don't know what it is lately, maybe it's because it's Fall and cold weather is upon us and I feel like this is the time of year that anything goes so I'm trying to work a little more hardware into my wardrobe.

The sweater is currently sitting in my "shopping cart" being considered because, well who doesn't need a cream knit sweater with studs? The flats I love and am thinking maybe my current black flats need a little break ;) and the bow belt I just got from the mailman about two weeks ago and has been on high rotation! Learning to share...

As the move out/in date draws near I am beginning to realize I have to share a lot of things but the scariest of all...A CLOSET!! I have two closets right now and I am left wondering, how in the world will I share one!

It is a walk in closet so I may be acting a little dramatic but I like to see all my clothes, they need to breathe. It's scary and I need to get very cut throat with what I should keep and what I can give away. Sigh...growing up is rough.

If I wasn't already completely obsessed with Blake Lively, she is one of the few "It girls" I actually get, after seeing her engagement ring I am now!! I know most girls are swooning over her husband more than her baubles I am the opposite, however.

Moving on up...

Hi pretties! It's been a crazy time of change for me and I'm excited to share that I am moving!! My job takes me farther north and my commute as of now is about an hour in the morning and an hour and 15 minutes at night (traffic is the worst). So, my boyfriend and I compromised on a move in between both our jobs!! And how quickly I go from being completely obsessed with clothes to being obsessed with decorating my new apartment!!

My boyfriend/roommate is not the type of guy that is going to let me decorate our place as if no boy will ever step foot there so I have been finding things we'll both like! I am loving chevron and grey tones and candles...lots of candles;our place doesn't have a fireplace and I need the warmth of fire in the winter months.

Scrolling through Urban Outfitters apartment stuff on their website this instantly made me laugh!! So I got one and cannot wait to finally use it.

Our duvet cover-the print is my favorite and the color is gender neutral!!!

Falling Foward...

Hi pretties! Spent the weekend down in Bourbonnais, Il at the Chicago Bear's summer training camp and it got me extremely excited for football season which starts up again in...the...FALL!!! I am always a season ahead if it's Spring or Summer, I look forward to Fall and Winter the very second the first day of Spring starts.

I've had  pair of booties sitting in my room staring at me, wondering when I'll finally take them out into the real world? The answer is, when it starts to get chilly out!! The 100+ degrees it's been all summer doesn't make closed toed shoe wearing very comfortable.

Sweet Summertime

Hi pretties! Please forgive my absence things at work have been nuts again and when I get home I usually crash! blah!

Now that summer is in full swing and the mercury is at a steady 95+ degrees I have really gotten down to the bare essentials for make-up. I am always nervous too much heavy make-up will make me break out. So I wanted to share with you my favorite summer face that is simple and sweet for these insanely hot days!

First, I started with Garnier Sheer Tint Anti-Dark Circle Roller. It gives the right amount of coverage to wear as concealer (for me anyway), the roller is a great way to wake your eyes up (plus caffeine in the formula is said to de-puff your eyes), and it has softened my dark circles because I can wear it under my make-up. 

Next, is a tinted moisturizer. I decided to try Smashbox camera ready BB Cream with SPF 35. This formula is supposed to not only provide coverage but also fight against blemishes. Also, I've been trying to use more SPF to protect my epidermis :)

I have the Urban Decay Naked palette, and if you don't you should try it! I mix Virgin with the color below for a natural yet brightened up color

This is the color Naked from the palette, it's the closest to my skin tone but looks really pretty when mixed with Virgin

I give my lips some color with the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple. It's more of a tint than a lipstick so it doesn't melt and gives long lasting color. This red compliments a lot of skin tones.

Then, I dust Nars bronzers in Orgasm across my cheekbones, hair line and a little on my neck to add some color and enhance my tan.

To finish I use whatever mascara I grab and go! It's easy and really brightens the face. If you're not too keen on red lip stain/lipstick then opt out for your favorite bold color. Now off to the fireworks!
