Sunday Smiles...

Hi friends!! Things that are making me smile today

My upcoming weekend getaway with my girlfriends to Door County...

This is the Cana Island Lighthouse, which is down the street from my grandparent's house when they lived in Door County. We took many walks with the dogs here and hung out by the water and watched the tourists. I haven't been back to Door County since my grandparents left, due to illness, so it's going to be great going back to my favorite place from my childhood!

Iced Vanilla Lattes & fresh Spring flowers...

Went to the store this morning while on a Starbucks run and picked up some pretty flowers for the apartment. I am addicted to fresh flowers so the Hydrangeas and Tulips I picked up are tricking me into thinking it's warm outside! (SPOILER ALERT: it's not actually warm)

The one flowery scented candle I actually like...

As you know I am obsessed with Christmas so it's only natural that I gravitate towards holiday scented candles but this one I love. It smells so yummy and summery, I love it! I just need to get more because this little one I have may not last too long!

The OC marathon...

It's one of my absolute favorite shows so every now and then I have a marathon of the seasons, Sunday is the day of rest so why not rest with all of my favorite Newpsies?! Plus, with a quote like this how can you not love this show...

Sprung...

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!! The first day of Spring is here and with it brings floral prints, pastels, and open toe shoes;everywhere else in the world besides the Midwest! It's a balmy 10 degrees here but I chose to usher in the warmer temps with this outfit ::it's a repeat from last Spring, seen on my Instagram::

Color in the lines...

Hi pretties!! We all know Spring is about putting away those boring blacks and greys and reintroducing color into our lives! There is one particular trend that does just that and I am loving it! Colored bobbi pins!

I am constantly looking down at something to work and pushing my hair behind my ears...yuck! Not only does it give you that weird kink in your hair but it also can make your ears appear larger, who wants that? I usually keep a few bobbi pins in my drawer and by 8:30am I have one in, holding my hair back. This habit just got way more fun with pretty colorful bobbi pins!

To keep it looking adult to a simple row of them in all different colors or you can go gradient in your favorite color! 

My other favorite part of this trend is that it is totally DIY, you take some blonde colored bobbi pins and paint them with your favorite nail polish, seal with your most trustly top coat, allow time to dry and viola! You're welcome :)

Thank you....

When someone reaches out and helps you whether it be in your personal life or your career it is imperative to acknowledge that help with appreciation. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, something as simple as a thank you letter can go a long way.

I know a lot of people say a thank you email is acceptable but I feel like it's a little impersonal. Sitting down and putting pen to paper shows you took the time to put real thought into what you are writing. If it's someone who has helped you quite a bit and a thank you letter doesn't feel like enough, send flowers! A lot of time it's not about the specific gesture but the fact that you know they did something worthwhile for you.
